Some parents have been wondering about next week and if their child should stay all day. As I haven’t really formally touched base with you all on how the children are getting on, I thought some of you may appreciate a quick chat tomorrow or Thursday relating to this. I hope this will help you make an informed decision about whether or not you would like your child to start full time. If you would like to see me in the morning, please send me an email and we will arrange a convenient time. firstname.lastname@example.org
Today we dined at Danehill restaurant with music 😉
The children did so well at lunch time today. Everyone sat brilliantly and cleared up after themselves as well! I have posted the menu on to the letters section for you to see. Please remember to write down what they want for desert too! Thank you.
Also a reminder to say the PTA are meeting tonight at 8pm.
Please take a look at the date section of the blog for information about week 4.
I am also pleased to announce Danehill School would like to invite all the Hedgehog families to a coffee morning on Tuesday 3rd October straight after you have dropped your children off at school. This has kindly agreed to be hosted by Susie Oates (Ruby’s mum) at her house. This is a wonderful opportunity to all get to know each other and discuss how amazingly the children have all settled in!
We do hope you can join them any time from 9.00am at Heather cottage, Isle of Thornes lane, Chelwood Gate, RH17 7LA
I hope everyone received the envelope with the reading journal and reading book ok. Please jot down comments in these whenever you share a story at home. Once the books have been read, there is a basket in the classroom for them to choose a new one. We still change their book for you to read to them during the morning session. This basket is only for the book banded books they read to you. If you can help them to do this tomorrow this will reinforce it and help them to remember each day.
Tomorrow you will all receive a reading/phonic pack all about how we teach this at school. Any additional questions please pop in and see me.
Don’t forget the children are staying for lunch on Monday and being collected at 1pm
I will put up a chart on the board outside our blue classroom door for you to fill in as to whether they are bringing a pack lunch from home or the choice of school dinner. You will be required to do this everyday so please have a chat with them about what they would like from the menu. You can find this in the letters section of our blog.
Finally, The PTA are running a Christmas card fundraising activity. This will also go out tomorrow and information will be posted on the whats app forum via the PTA and on the letters section of the blog.
Don’t forget to check out the date section of the blog over the weekend too.
Wow everyone, we are almost at the end of our first week! The children have settled so well and have not only made lots of friends, familiarised themselves with our classroom but also discovered some of the many expectations of being at school. They really have had a great start and I know they are very excited to come together as a class on Monday morning. I have attached below and in the letter section of the blog, the staffing structure for this year. If you have any questions about next week or just want to touch base with me please feel free to email me.
